Parking for Editors at Arena Birmingham

There’s no place like home! Returning to the very place it all kicked off, English rock band, Editors are making a stop in Birmingham this 2020!

As part of their 27 European and UK Cities tour, Editors are taking crowds back through time with the greatest hits of their ongoing 15 career in the music industry. The release of their most recent album Black Gold includes 13 tracks from their 6 studio albums alongside 3 brand new songs, ‘Upside Down’, summer festival anthem ‘Frankenstein’ and title track Black Gold!

The band is made up of lead Tom Smith on vocals, piano and guitar, Chris Urbanowicz on guitar and synths, Russell Leetch on bass guitar and Ed Lay on drums. The quartet met at Staffordshire University while studying Music Technology and but took the more passion filled route of actually forming a band in 2002. They later lived in Birmingham. The band played at famous local music venues like The Flapper and Jug of Ale during their rise to fame.

Their debut album The Back Room released in 2005, contained hits such as “Munich” and “Blood” earning them a Mercury Prize nomination in 2006. In its first week, the album entered the charts at number 13, selling 17,627 copies! Follow-up album An End Has A Start went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in 2007 gaining them even more recognition and the Brit Awards nomination for best British Band.

They surely have come a long way and we’re very proud of the original brummies! Their success is undeniable and they have kept going strong for 15 years. Experimenting with their new sound they’ve solidified the personality of the band with great success.

Join the guys in celebrating 15 years later and still going strong Brum style at Arena Birmingham this Feb!
